Sec. 66-40. Removal of stumps. All stumps of street and park trees shall be removed below the surface of the ground so that the top of the stump shall not project above the surface of the ground. (Ord. of 2-11-85, § 6) Sec. 66-41. Interference with town employees or officials. It shall be unlawful for any person to prevent, delay or interfere with town employees or officials, or any of its agents, while engaging in and about the planting, cultivation, mulching, pruning, spraying or removing of any street trees, park trees or trees on public grounds, as authorized in this article. It shall be unlawful for any person, other than town officials or employees, to prune, treat or remove any street tree or park tree within the town without first filing an application and procuring a permit from the police department. The town maintains the right to review the application and the tree in question in determining whether or not to issue a permit. (Ord. of 2-11-85, § 8)
