Sec. 66-40. Removal of stumps.
All stumps of street and park trees shall be removed below the surface of the ground so that the top of the stump shall not project above the surface of the ground. (Ord. of 2-11-85, § 6)
Sec. 66-41. Interference with town employees or officials.
It shall be unlawful for any person to prevent, delay or interfere with town employees or officials, or any of its agents, while engaging in and about the planting, cultivation, mulching, pruning, spraying or removing of any street trees, park trees or trees on public grounds, as authorized in this article. Sec. 66-42. Permits required.
It shall be unlawful for any person, other than town officials, town employees, or utility companies with easement rights to prune, treat or remove any street tree or park tree within the town ’s jurisdiction. Requests by any other party for pruning, treatment or removal of any street tree shall be submitted to the Planning Department for review. The Planning Department will evaluate the request with the Public Works Department. If the request is approved, the Public Works Department and/or its contractor(s) will complete the request as applicable and in accordance with this article. The town maintains the right to review the request and the tree in question in determining whether or not to issue approval. (Ord. of 2-11-85, § 8; Ord. No. 2023-6-0, 3-14-23)
