N ON -C UTOFF A fixture light distribution where there is no light intensity limitation in the zone above the maximum distribution of light intensity.

N ON -E NCROACHMENT A REA For purposes of floodplain management, the channel of a river or other watercourse and the adjacent land areas that must be reserved in order to discharge the base flood without cumulatively increasing the water surface elevation more than one foot as designated in the Flood Insurance Study report. N ORMAL F ORESTRY A CTIVITIES Forestry activities conducted pursuant to a forestry management plan prepared or approved by a forester registered pursuant to Chapter 89B of the General Statutes of the State of North Carolina.

N OTICE OF V IOLATION An initial notice indicating a violation of this Ordinance.

N URSING H OME A facility maintained for the purpose of providing nursing or convalescent care for three or more persons unrelated to the licensee. A nursing home is a home for chronic or convalescent patients, who on admission, are not as a rule, acutely ill and who do not usually require specialized medical facilities. Accessory uses may include dining rooms and recreation and physical therapy facilities for residents, and offices and storage facilities for professional and supervisory staff. This use type does not include congregate living facilities, where the focus is on providing personal care rather than medical care, or hospitals, where more acute and specialized medical care is provided.

O FFICE P ARK A development containing a number of separate office buildings that is designed, constructed, and operated on an integrated and coordinated basis. O FFICE P ARK , M EDICAL / D ENTAL A development containing a number of separate buildings used for medical/dental offices that is designed, constructed, and operated on an integrated and coordinated basis. A medical/dental office park may include an urgent care facility or a hospital. O FFICE , M EDICAL /D ENTAL A facility operated by one or more physicians, dentists, chiropractors, or other licensed practitioners of the healing arts for the examination and treatment of persons solely on an outpatient basis.
