Article 11: Interpretation and Definitions Section 11.5. Terms and Uses Defined 11.4.2. Exceptions and Variations
T ELECOMMUNICATION , M ONOPOLE A style of freestanding tower consisting of a single shaft usually composed of two (2) or more hollow sections that attach to a tower base. This type of tower is designed to support itself without the use of guy wires or other stabilization devices. These facilities are mounted to a tower base that rests on or in the ground or on a building’s roof. All cables and feed lines shall be installed within the shaft of the tower (see graphic to the right).
T ELECOMMUNICATION , N ON - CONCEALED A wireless telecommunication facility that is readily identifiable as such and can be either freestanding or attached. T ELECOMMUNICATION , P ANEL A NTENNA An inconspicuous, relatively flat, square or rectangular antenna designed to be affixed to the wall of a building or structure in order to receive and transmit signals from a telecommunication device. T ELECOMMUNICATION , P ERSONAL W IRELESS S ERVICE Commercial mobile services, unlicensed wireless services, and common carrier wireless exchange access services as defined in the Telecommunications Act of 1996. T ELECOMMUNICATION , P UBLIC S AFETY T ELECOMMUNICATIONS E QUIPMENT All telecommunication equipment utilized by a public entity for the purpose of ensuring the safety of the citizens of the Town and operating within the designated frequency range and any future spectrum allocations at the direction of the FCC. T ELECOMMUNICATION , R ADIO F REQUENCY E MISSIONS Any electromagnetic radiation or other communications signal emitted from an antenna or antenna- related equipment on the ground, tower, building, or other vertical projection.
T ELECOMMUNICATION , R ADIO F REQUENCY P ROPAGATION A NALYSIS Computer modeling to show the level of signal saturation in a given geographical area.
T ELECOMMUNICATION , R EPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE The replacement or repair of any components of telecommunication facilities where the replacement is identical to the component being replaced or for any matters that involve the normal repair and maintenance of telecommunication facilities without the addition, removal or change of any of the physical or visually discernable components or aspects of telecommunication facilities that will add to the visible appearance of the facility as originally permitted, but does not constitute a modification to telecommunication facilities.
