Window Signs Description: A sign which is applied or attached to the exterior of a transparent surface, or applied to, attached to, or located within one foot of the interior of a transparent surface, which can be seen through the transparent surface from the exterior of the structure. 5.16.6. Illuminated Signs A. Sign Illumination

Unless otherwise expressly prohibited, signs may be internally or externally illuminated; provided, that lighting directed toward a sign shall be shielded in such manner as to illuminate only the face of the sign. B. Wiring of Electrical Signs All electric signs with internal wiring or lighting equipment, and all external lighting equipment used to direct light on signs, must bear the seal of approval of an electrical testing laboratory that is nationally recognized as having facilities for testing and requires proper installation in accordance with the National Electrical Code. All wiring to electric ground signs or to lighting equipment directed to ground signs shall be underground. C. Electronic Signs Excluding electronic signs lawfully existing as of January 1, 2020, which may remain, continue to operate, and be replaced with an electronic sign that is no larger than the electronic sign that existed on January 1, 2020, all electronic signs shall be prohibited except in the CAC, RAC, CC, and IM Zoning Districts, and subject to the following: 1.
