Materials technology is a rapidly evolving field of study, and materials for signage that are not listed in Table 5.16.5.C, Permissible Freestanding Temporary Signs, or Table 5.16.5.D, Permissible Attached Temporary Signs, may be introduced into the market. When an unlisted material is proposed, the Planning Director shall determine to which class of materials the new material is comparable, based on the new material’s appearance, durability, and colorfastness. No sign displays shall be longer in duration than the longest permitted display in Table 5.16.5.C, Permissible Freestanding Temporary Signs, or Table 5.16.5.D, Attached Temporary Signs, regardless of the material.
