G OLF C OURSE A tract of land laid out with at least nine holes for playing the game of golf and improved with tees, greens, fairways, and hazards. Accessory uses of a golf course may include a clubhouse (with or without eating facilities), shelters, a driving range, putting green, maintenance facilities, an irrigation system, and outdoor storage of materials and equipment. G OVERNMENT M AINTENANCE , S TORAGE , OR D ISTRIBUTION F ACILITY A facility housing government shops, maintenance and repair centers, equipment, and outdoor storage yards. G OVERNMENT S ERVICES , A DMINISTRATIVE A building containing offices of a governmental agency that provides administrative and/or direct services to the public, such as, but not limited to, local or state government agency administration, public assistance, postal services, employment services, or motor vehicle licensing and registration services. G REEN S TORMWATER INFRASTRUCTURE Any of a number of practices that, used individually or collectively, contribute to managing, treating and reducing stormwater runoff from a development or redevelopment site, as close as possible to the runoff’s sources, by preserving natural landscape features and/or by mimicking natural processes through installation and maintenance of structurally engineered devices (such as bioretention cells, bioswales, green roof’s, stormwater street trees, and cisterns). Constructed SCM wetlands are not considered GSI. G REEN R OOF A roof of a structure that is partially or completely covered with vegetation and a growing medium, planted over a waterproofing membrane. Green roofs are sometimes known as rooftop gardens. G REENHOUSE A structure, primarily of glass, in which temperature and humidity can be controlled for the cultivation or protection of plants. G REENHOUSE /N URSERY A facility where ornamental trees and plants are stored or grown for wholesale or retail sale. This use may include bulk storage of mulch, fertilizer, and other landscaping materials, as well as the sale of tools, equipment, and other materials normally associated with home landscaping or the landscaping industry. G REENWAY A pedestrian path constructed of pervious or impervious surfaces and related structures — including, but not limited to, boardwalks, steps, rails, and signage.

G ROSS F LOOR AREA The total floor area of a building exclusive of stairways, storage closets, and elevator shafts.

G ROUND C OVER Low-growing plants other than turf grass that grow in a spreading fashion to form a more or less solid mat of vegetation, generally planted to provide decorative landscaping or permeable cover for bare earth that prevents soil erosion.
