P OLLUTION Man-made or man-induced alteration of the chemical, physical, biological, thermal, and/or radiological integrity of water. P ORCH A projection from an outside wall of a dwelling covered by a roof and/or sidewalls (other than the sides of the building to which the porch is attached) not more than two feet in height. A porch that projects beyond a setback or building restriction line may be screened, but may not be enclosed with glass, jalousies, canvas, plastic or any solid material to a height exceeding two feet. P OST -FIRM For purposes of floodplain management, construction or other development for which the “start of construction” occurred on or after the effective date of the initial Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for the area. P RE -FIRM For purposes of floodplain management, construction or other development for which the “start of construction” occurred before the effective date of the initial Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for the area. P RIMARY E NTRANCE The place of pedestrian ingress and egress to a building, parcel, or development used most frequently by the public. P RINCIPAL B UILDING A building that is occupied by or devoted to a principal use of the lot on which it is located. There may be more than one principal building on a lot. P RINCIPALLY A BOVE G ROUND For purposes of floodplain management, at least 51% of the actual cash value of the structure is above ground. P RIVATE E NTERTAINMENT F ACILITY , I NDOOR A facility open to the general public within a completely enclosed building or buildings. Indoor entertainment facilities may be operated as nonprofit or for profit, and include, but are not limited to, theatrical productions, music venues, arcades, movie theaters, or similar indoor uses. This use does not include facilities that are part of public parks or recreation facilities or public cultural facilities. P RIVATE E NTERTAINMENT F ACILITY , O UTDOOR A facility open to the general public, but not solely within a completely enclosed building or buildings. Indoor entertainment facilities may be operated as nonprofit or for profit, and include, but are not limited to, amusement parks, outdoor theaters, arcades, movie theaters, or similar outdoor uses. This use does not include facilities that are part of public parks or recreation facilities or public cultural facilities. P ORTABLE S IGN See Sign, Portable. P REMISE For the purpose of definition the term “premise” shall be interchangeable with the term “zoning lot”.
