Annual Report 2026
12 Years of Accreditation
OUR MISSION to enrich the community and foster belonging through recreation, cultural resource engagement , and accessible spaces , events and programs . OUR VISION to serve as the heart of the community life where connections thrive , cultures are celebrated , and everyone feels a sense of belonging.
FY 2026 was a defining year for Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources, marked by achievement, growth, and community connection. One of our most significant accomplishments was earning CAPRA Reaccreditation, reaffirming our commitment to excellence and placing PRCR among only fourteen accredited agencies in North Carolina. This distinction reflects the dedication, professionalism, and heart our staff brings to the community each day. Progress was evident across every division. Special Events and Cultural Resources enhanced programming and put different spins on events. Athletics sustained strong youth development through volleyball and basketball while introducing NFL Flag Football to meet rising interest. The Morrisville Aquatics & Fitness Center reached record participation supported by expanded lessons and enhancements to the My Parks & Rec App, which improved digital access and user experience. Cedar Fork Community Center and the Senior Center both increased programs with enthusiastic participation. FY 2026 was also an important year of organizational reflection and planning. We began updating our Mission and Vision to better reflect today’s community and operational priorities, ensuring our values guide decisions, culture, and daily work. In addition, we formally initiated work on the department’s Master Plan to align long-term facility, programming, and operational goals with Morrisville’s evolving needs. With reaccreditation secured, strengthened direction, and a year of accomplishments behind us, FY 2026 positioned PRCR for continued innovation and lasting community impact.
