liquor, ale, porter, and any other brewed or fermented beverage except unfortified or fortified wine as defined by this Chapter, containing at least one-half of one percent (0.5%), and not more than fifteen percent (15%) alcohol by volume. Any malt beverage containing more than six percent (6%) alcohol by volume shall bear a label clearly indicating the alcohol content of the malt beverage. sixteen (16%) or less alcohol by volume made by fermentation from grapes, fruits, berries, rice, or honey: or by the addition of pure cane, beet, or dextrose sugar; or by the addition of pure brandy from the same type of grape, fruit, berry, or honey that is contained in the base wine and produced in accordance with the regulations of the United States. No. 2023-6-0, 3-14-23) __________ * State Law References: Regulation of alcoholic beverages, G.S. 18B-100 et seq. __________ It shall be unlawful for any person to ask, beg or solicit money, alms, or contributions in the Town without first obtaining a permit from Chief of Police or their designee. No fee shall be charged for the permit. To obtain the permit, the applicant must provide the following information: name, address, government issued photo ID, if available, signature and information to enable the applicant to be contacted by the Town. The permit shall be valid for a period of 3 months and may be renewed upon submission of an updated application. If a permit holder is convicted of a violation of begging and panhandling ordinances, the holder shall not be eligible for another permit for a period of one year from the date of conviction of the offense. (6) Unfortified wine: for the purposes of this Chapter are defined as any wine of Sec. 34-2 Ask, Beg or Solicitation of money, alms, or other contributions (1)

It shall be unlawful for a person to ask, beg or solicit money, alms or
contributions:
(a)
In any manner while standing, sitting or otherwise located within any street right-of-way in the Town (including non-traveled portions of the right-of-way, such as medians and highway shoulders); further, no person shall place any object, such as a chair, crate or any furniture in the right- of-way or sidewalk blocking the safe passage of pedestrians; or
(b)
In an aggressive manner from any operator or occupant of a motor vehicle while that vehicle is on a state or town-maintained street or highway; or
(c)
In any manner while on private property if the owner, tenant, lawful occupant has asked the person not to solicit on the property or has posted a sign clearly indicating solicitations are not welcomed on the property; or In any manner while in a public place or place open to the public, forcing oneself upon another by making repeated demands for money, alms, or solicitations; or
(d)
