Article 5: Development Standards Section 5.16. Signage 5.16.5. Standards for Temporary Signs

a. A commercial message is obsolete a nd has become misleading (e.g., a “for lease” or “for sale” sign in front of a building that is fully occupied);

b. The sign falls into disrepair (see Section 5.16.3, Sign Maintenance); or

c. The number of days set out in Table 5.16.5.C: Permissible Freestanding Temporary Signs and Table 5.16.5.D: Permissible Attached Temporary Signs, expires. C. Freestanding Temporary Signs This section authorizes and regulates signage in addition to that authorized and regulated elsewhere in this Ordinance. Signs that are not listed in Table 5.16.5, Permissible Freestanding Temporary Signs are not permitted as freestanding signs. Signage Related to Automobile Service Stations

The following signage is allowed at automobile service stations selling gasoline:

1. A single sign attached to a ground sign on the site that identifies the pumps as self-service and indicates current gasoline prices, provided the area of such sign shall not exceed 12 square feet (this is in addition to sign face area allowed the ground sign).

Sidewalk Sign Description: A type of temporary portable sign that is intended to be placed on a hard surface, most commonly a sidewalk. These signs include A frame signs, signs that are suspended from the top member of an A-frame sign, signs with weighted bases, sandwich board signs, and comparable signs.
