Winter_Spring 2025 Program Guide_

Welcome from the Director

991 Aviation Pkwy Morrisville, NC 27560 morrisvillenc.gov/parksandrec Morrisville Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department

As we step towards a new year, I’m excited for the possibilities ahead filled with health, personal achievements, and wonderful memories grounded in connection and well-being. I also reflect on the past few months and the positive changes made by the Morrisville Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources (PRCR) team. This year, the National Parks and Recreation Association embraced the theme “Where You Belong,” celebrating how Parks and Recreation Departments nationwide foster a sense of belonging by providing welcoming, inclusive programs and safe, accessible spaces to build meaningful connections.

These ideals guide the PRCR team and are reflected in the countless hours dedicated to creating opportunities for recreation and leisure. This past October, we completed the renovation of the playground at Morrisville Community Park, replacing the aging equipment with a custom structure featuring a

tower slide, a multifaceted net climber, and swings. The new signature playground also includes inclusive elements such as the Spin With Me, an inclusive merry-go-round designed for all children and the Sensory Wave Double Up Climber which enhances sensory development while allowing children of all abilities to experience the joy of climbing. In the coming months, I hope you continue your journey to stay active and engaged by visiting a new playground or participating in one of the numerous activities, programs, and events offered by your PRCR team. Consider the Morrisville Aquatics & Fitness Center (MAFC), which is staffed by amazing individuals and united by community members’ love for aquatic activities, cardio classes, racket sports, and more. You may also choose to make connections on an athletic field, at one of our facilities, along the greenway, or find your own “happy place” in one of our many parks. As the leaves fall and we turn the page on another year, I encourage you to celebrate the benefits of being connected, the benefits of personal growth, and the benefits of making memories. And remember, whether bundling up to enjoy a brisk walk on a greenway, attending a new special event, or finding the perfect class at the MAFC, your PRCR team is dedicated to creating spaces for play and connection, and we look forward to helping you to #PlayMorr!
